Sandbox Marketing wraps up Dodge Tailgate Tour for ESPN the Magazine
Sandbox Marketing, LLC of Laguna Niguel, CA has put the wraps on a ten-stop mobile marketing program for ESPN the Magazine, announced today by Steve Ehret, Partner, Sandbox Marketing, LLC.
The 2004 Dodge Tailgate Tour presented by ESPN The Magazine was created to provide fans a hands-on interactive experience for college football fans. The tour was routed through 10 schools with proud traditions of college football. The Dodge Tailgate Tour was the perfect opportunity to showcase the newly redesigned Dodge Dakota Trucks to the eager tailgate audience. The core demographic at college football tailgates tends to skew young and male.
This tour was no different, as the fans had a chance get inside the vehicles, check out V-8 and V-6 engines and the roomiest cab in its class. Fans also had a chance to have their picture taken and placed on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. Fans were driven to the website to download their photos so that they can share them with friends and family. This also provided Dodge and ESPN The Magazine a great viral branding opportunity that promoted both brands.
The Dodge Area was draped by a large tent backdrop that was custom printed with the Dodge logo and encouraged consumers to “Grab Life By The Horns”. The Dodge booth also handed out foam Dodge promotional footballs to those fans that came in to have their photo taken and preview the Dodge Dakota.
The ESPN The Magazine Interactive Area was bustling with activity as the team distributed promotional items from upcoming Disney, ESPN and Touchstone Movies like Mr. 3000, The Incredibles, Hustle, National Treasure and Ladder 49. The ESPN The Magazine Area was also the place to pick up a brand new issue of the magazine, pick up your raffle ticket for the “Incredible Giveaway” which included the ESPN 25 Book and DVD. Raffle tickets were distributed from the ESPN The Magazine Mobile Golf Carts and were given to tailgaters to entice them to stop by the Tailgate Tour on their way into the game.
